KAVRE, DEC 20 - Chairman of Interim Cabinet Khil Raj Regmi has called on fresh graduates of medical science to stay in the country and serve the people. He expressed sadness over the growing trend among Nepali medical students to leave for foreign country after graduation.
Addressing the fresh graduates of medical science during the 19th Convocation of Ceremony of Kathmandu University on the premises of School of Medical Science at Dhulikhel, Kavre on Friday, Regmi announced that the government will continue to work to create working environment in the country for students of Medical science.
"The current trend shows that Nepali youths and trained professionals go to foreign countries to serve after getting their education at home," said Chairman Regmi, who appeared in a somber mood. "Express commitment to stay in the nation in the days ahead as the opportunities and development potential have grown in the nation," said leader Regmi.
He also urged the medical graduates to guide themselves through optimistic view to remove the distrustful situation.
"Nepali people have high expectations from you [medial graduates]. Because a majority of our population lives in rural areas and these places lack access to modern medical treatment facility and quality medical service," said Regmi. "Let medical doctors like you dedicate yourselves for the services of those deprived of medical services in the nation."
Vice Chancellor of the university and Education Minister Madhav Poudel urged the graduates to use their skills and knowledge for the service of the nation and the people.
