Gangster Giri released on bail

KATHMANDU, NOV 01 -

 

The Special Court on Thursday released notorious gangster Abhisek Girion bail. 

Giri,  who was arrested on money laundering charges, was released after he put up his land, one ropani and 10 aanas in Sundarijal, Kathmandu, as collateral for bail to the tune of Rs 3 million as set by the court.

SC Registrar Nati Babu Lamichane said the property was valued at Rs 3.1 million. The Department of Money Laundering Investi-gation had filed a case at the court after the Central Investigation Bureau had found that he had illegally amassed property worth Rs 20.94 million.

On May 19, the department had filed separate cases against five ‘notorious dons’ at the court on charges of amassing millions of rupees through illegal means.
