Ram Baran Yadav
KATHMANDU, JUN 16 - The government on Sunday decided to bear the entire medical expenses of President Ram Baran Yadavwho has been diagnosed with some ‘scars’ in his large intestine. A meeting of the Council of Ministers that took place in Kathmandu this evening endorsed the proposal to cover up the medical expenses of President Yadav.
According to Foreign Ministry sources, it has written letters to the embassies of US and Japan for visa processing. “The ministries of health and foreign have been making preparations,” said President’s press advisor Rajendra Dahal. “Most probably the president will be taken to Japan .”
Sources at the President's Office said that the President will most likely be taken to Japan on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning for further diagnosis and treatment.
President Yadav, a long-time gastrointestinal patient, was diagnosed with the problems during his regular check-up on Saturday after which doctors suggested he be taken abroad for treatment .
Dr Sashi Sharma, gastroenterologist at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and who has been attending to Yadav, said that an ultra-sound test shown a negative result but a CT-Scan test showed ‘some problems’ in the large intestine.
