Won't engage in toppling govt, Bhattarai tells US envoy

KATHMANDU, JAN 06 -

UCPN (Maoist) senior leader Baburam Bhattarai has said that his party will not join the government and also won't engage in forming or toppling it.

During a meeting with US envoy Peter W. Bodde , who called upon the Maoist leader on Monday morning, Bhattarai said that his party would strive for drafting a democratic constitution within a year, said Bhattarai's aide Bishwadeep Panday.

Bhattarai said US envoy Bodde that his party was for calling the CA meet at the earliest and take the statute formation and economic development hand in hand.

US envoy Bodde had also met Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala on Sunday.
