- One held, two cops injured
BARA, JAN 01 -
A transport worker Aftaf Alam Ansari has been shot and injured by an unknown armed gang in Nijgadh, Bara on Wednesday.
Two motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire at Ansari, 35, of Jitpur VDC-3 in Bhawanipur, while he was basking in the sun outside his residence this afternoon. He has sustained bullet injuries in the back of his head.
Critically injured, Ansari has been ferried to the National Medical College in Birgunj for treatment.
Meanwhile, police have detained one of the shooters.
Two police personnel have also sustained gun shots while trying to arrest them, sources confirmed.
Police officers Matrika Thakur has sustained injuries in his back and hand and Shyam Thapa has sustained injuries in his thigh.
