M25 partially closed after fatal collision

BBC News

A person has died after a crash on the M25 in Surrey on New Year's Day.

The motorway is closed anti-clockwise between junctions 10 at Wisley and 9 at Leatherhead after a collision between a car and a lorry just after 02:00 GMT.

The crash happened on the anti-clockwise stretch between junction 11 for Chertsey and junction 10, the A3 turnoff.

A Highways Agency spokesman said the road was expected to reopen from 11:00 GMT.

Traffic was being diverted off the motorway and sent via Ottershaw but one lane has since reopened to allow trapped traffic to pass.
