KATHMANDU, DEC 19 - CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has warned that his party will stay in the opposition bench if Nepali Congress (NC) fails to come up with acceptable proposal . "We are waiting to hear the NC's proposal regarding government formation," said Nepal, "If it's not acceptable, we will stay in the opposition."
Speaking at a press meet organised by the Rautahat chapter of Nepal Federation of Journalists at Gaur on Thursday, leader Nepal said his party will stay in the opposition if the NC held plum posts in the government by ignoring the CPN-UML . The party is eager to hear out the proposition of NC," he said, " CPN-UML will take a final call depending on what kind of proposition comes."
This is the second time Nepal arrived here in his home district after the victory in the second Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.
Responding to a query by journalists on how will the NC form a government if CPN-UML stays in opposition, leader Nepal said, "They may form the government by taking the fringe parties into confidence."
He also said the dispute over removing the president still exists. He, however, opined that every issue will be resolved soon. Any hindrances that come in the way of writing a constitution will be unwelcome said the CPN-UML leader. For that, we are doing everything at our disposal to consent with the UCPN (Maoist), he added.
The senior CPN-UML leader arrived in his constituency on Wednesday to distribute blankets in the cold affected Dalit area. He distributed blankets to around 65 Dalit families.
Leader Nepal claimed that the election of local bodies would be held within mid April-May. He further said that a probe panel as demanded by the UCPN (Maoist), who are alleging electoral fraud, cannot be formed but the matter could be discussed at the CA.
During his visit to his home districts, the local party workers unceasingly wanted to know which constituency, out of two constituencies he won under the FPTP category, he will be leaving. Though his home district is his heart, the party will take the decision regarding this, he informed.
