Victims of Thames Valley road accidents commemorated at service


A service to commemorate victims of traffic accidents is being held in Oxfordshire later.
St Mary the Virgin Church, Thame
In 2012 78 people were killed in traffic accidents in the Thames Valley
Organised by Thames Valley Police, the multi-faith service is held annually to offer support to the families of those who have been killed.
Force chaplain, David Wilbraham, said: "This service provides a place for those affected to remember and commemorate their individual loss."
The service takes place at St Mary the Virgin Church in Thame at 15:00 GMT.
Readings and prayers from different religions will be given by police officers, fire and rescue workers, paramedics, ambulance technicians and hospital staff during the service.
The Bishop of Dorchester, the Right Reverend Colin Fletcher, will lead an act of commemoration during the service.
In 2012, 78 people were killed in traffic accidents in the Thames Valley Police area, according to the force.
