Victims’ family members still traumatised
SYANGJA, NOV 01 -
Local people and relatives of Surya Ale, 21, and Krishna Bhattarai, 18, who were killed when police opened fire at them at Chapakot in the district on Tuesday, are mourning their deaths.
The youths were killed when police opened fire at villagers who were protesting in front of the Chapakot Police Post demanding a fair investigation into the death of local resident Maya BK. Villagers have accused police of negligence during investigation though BK committed suicide on October ‘as she could not tolerate the domestic violence meted out to her.’
Surya’s mother Sita is still in a state of trauma and is not informed about the death. Surya’s sisters are consoling her saying that nothing bad has happened. Similar is the condition of Krishna’s family members.
Krishna’s brother Janak is still traumatised.
Meanwhile, a government probe team led by Home Ministry’s Joint-secretary Rudra Prasad Poudel reached the incident site and inquired Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Raut about the incident on Thursday.
