UML will take the leadership of statute drafting: MK Nepal
KATHMANDU, NOV 06 - CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that his party will take the leadership ofconstitution drafting process.
Speaking during a door to door election campaign at Gothatar on Wednesday, leader Nepal urged the people vote on favour of his party saying that only UML could lead the constitution draftingprocess.
"The constitution could not be drafted earlier as UCPN (Maoist) was the largest party. Vote for us and make us the largest party, UML will take the leadership of constitution drafting ," said the former prime minister.
"We won't need to hold a third election to the Constituent Assembly," he added.
Nepal also warned against the desire for a dictatorial president by stirring up dispute amongst different ethnic groups who have lived in harmony.
"UCPN (Maoist) is advocating for a directly-elected presidential system by igniting clash amongst different ethnic groups, "said Nepal," People will give majority votes to UML, defeating the conspiracy and illusion to be a dictator."
