    KAKADVITTA , NOV 07 -
Launching his party’s Mechi-Mahakali national awareness campaign in Kakadvitta on Wednesday, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said chances of drafting a new constitution will be high if his party gets a majority in the election .
He accused the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML of not working for the people despite ruling the country time and again. The UCPN (M) will bring about a drastic change in the country if the party gets a majority in the election , he said.
Saying that the election is both an opportunity and a challenge, he urged people to take the election as means of a national unity and prosperity. “The country became federal democratic and all major issues such as loktantra and inclusion were established due to the UCPN (M)’s sacrifice.” He said that the UCPN (M) can only address aspirations of people for national unity and change.
At the same function, UCPN (M) leader Baburam Bhattarai said that his party needs a majority in the election to institutionalise achievements gained so far.
Under the awareness campaign, UCPN (Maoist) top leaders such—Dahal, Bhattarai, Narayankaji Shre-stha and Barshaman Pun—are scheduled to address election campaigns while mass meetings will be held in more than 50 places.
