Syria conflict: Damascus hit by deadly blast
An explosive device went off in Hejaz Square, in front of the central railway office, the Sana news agency said.A blast in the centre of the Syrian capital Damascus has killed eight people and wounded about 50 others, official media report.
Sana quoted police as saying "terrorists" had planted the bomb but gave no further details.
Rebels fighting to topple President Bashar al-Assad have often attacked the city with bombs or mortars.
