Private sector will defy banda: FNCCI Prez
KAVRE, NOV 09 - President of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( FNCCI ) Suraj Vaidhya has warned to boycott and defy the 10-day-long general strike called by the CPN-Maoist .
Addressing the 23rd general assembly of Kavre Chamber of Commerce and Industry here in the district today, Vaidhya said, "We are against the strike. The private sector will boycott if bandais enforced."
He also said that the FNCCI has talked to CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya regarding the strike.
The CPN-Maoist -led agitating parties have called the general strike beginning on November 11 to disturb the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.
Also on the occasion, President Vaidhya expressed happiness saying that the political parties have honored the aspirations of the private sector and added that the private sector has attempted to include all five development regions on its minimum economic agendas.
Feasibility study of agriculture, tourism, hydropower and quarries has been highlighted, he said.
The convention is scheduled to elect a new leadership of Kavre Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
