Lisburn: Masked men attack elderly couple and steal guns

An elderly couple has been attacked and beaten by a gang of masked men who stole two guns from their home in County Antrim.

Police said four men in balaclavas got into the house at Saintfield Road, Lisburn, at about 20:00 BST on Friday.

They attacked and beat the man, then locked him into a toilet. The gang threatened the woman with a knife and tied her up.

Two legally held firearms and a sum of money were taken.

Police said the man suffered cuts and bruises and the couple were both very shocked at what had happened.
