ICC World Twenty 20 Qualifier: PNG set target of 141 to Nepal

KATHMANDU, NOV 19 - Nepal have received a target of 141 runs to win their game against Papua New Guinea at the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier match being held in Dubai on Tuesday. 

Papua New Guinea won the toss and elected to bat first at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, before 

Nepal pegged them back with quick wickets. Nepal i skipper Paras Khadka claimed three wickets and continued his impressive run in the tournament, both with the bat and the ball. 

Amrit Bhattarai took two wickets while Jitendra Mukhiya claimed one PNG bat sman, helping the Nepal i side to restrict them to a modest total of 140. 

In yesterday's match, Nepal had lost to Scotland by eight wickets. 

Nepal earlier beat Denmark by five wickets in the tournament opener before a thrilling win over Kenya on Saturday. 

Nepal are pitted in Group B with Afghanistan, the Netherlands, Scotland, Bermuda, Papua New Guinea, Denmark and Kenya.

Nepal will have to finish in the top six of the 16-nation tournament to qualify for the ICC World Twenty 20 World Cup to be held in Bangladesh next year.
