Driver dies in hospital day after crash in Fife
A 28-year-old man who was seriously injured in a road collision in Fife has died, Police Scotland has confirmed.
Adam Maxwell, from Buckhaven, was driving a Vauxhall Nova involved in a crash with a Jeep Cherokee on the A916 Cupar to Kennoway road at Craigrothie.
The collision happened at about 11:40 on Wednesday.
Mr Maxwell was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. He died on Thursday night.
The female driver of the Cherokee had minor injuries.
An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is continuing, and police are appealing for witnesses.
Meanwhile, police have also formally identified a man who died in an unrelated crash on the A907 near Kincardine, also in Fife, on Wednesday afternoon.
Steven McArthur, 30, from Kirkcaldy, was the driver and sole occupant of a Ford Mondeo which was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra.
The driver and passenger of the Astra remain in the intensive care unit at the Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, where their condition was described as stable.
Mr McArthur's relatives described him as a "loving son and brother who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him."
