David Cameron meets Indian PM Manmohan Singh
Mr Cameron is visiting Delhi ahead of the summit, which starts on Friday
UK PM David Cameron has met his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh in Delhi during a visit ahead of his visit to the Commonwealth summit in Sri Lanka.
Mr Cameron reported on Twitter that the two leaders had made "extraordinary progress" on trade and investment since his first visit in 2010.
Dr Singh is boycotting the Commonwealth summit, amid a row over Sri Lanka's human rights record.
The pair "share strong views on Sri Lanka", Mr Cameron said.
British Foreign Secretary William Hague has previously said he understood why other leaders had chosen not to attend.
But the UK has decided that not to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (Chogm), which starts in Colombo on Friday, would "damage the Commonwealth without changing things positively in Sri Lanka", he added.
