CAN prepares for special welcome
KATHMANDU, DEC 01 - Nepali national cricket team which made history by qualifying for the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2014 arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA( in Kathmandu on Sunday evening.
The cricket team received a hero's welcome upon their arrival at the TIA in the Capital, as officials from Cricket Association of Nepal ( CAN ) and National Sports Council welcomed the players and the accompanying officials. 
A huge crowd of fans and supporters gathered at the airport to welcome their heroes who, for the first time in Nepali sports history, made it to the T-20 World Cup 2014 to be played in Bangladesh.
Nepali cricket team had registered a historic win against Hong Kong last week at the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier played in the UAE, securing a berth in the ICC World Twenty20 World Cup .
"We have planned a procession for the team whereby they will be travelling in a fully decorated vehicle starting from the airport to Sinamangal, Tinkune, Baneshwor, Maiti Ghar, Singha Durbar and Naxal," said Chumbi Lama, an official at CAN .
Likewise, the Nepali team is scheduled to play a game at the TU Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur tomorrow for 'Journey to World Cup ' where two teams from neighbouring India will also participate.
CAN is hosting a dinner for the victorious national team on Tuesday when the national team will be felicitated by the cricket body with cash prize.
Chairman of the Interim Election Government Khil Raj Regmi, leaders of various political parties and other businessmen will mark their presence at the dinner.
Likewise, CAN informed that the national team would be part of the procession on Wednesday when the procession will pass through major thoroughfares of Kathmandu.
