NC finalises PR lawmakers (with name list)

• 15 central members write note of dissent

KATHMANDU, DEC 30 - Nepali Congress , largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA), has finalised the name list of the lawmakers under the Proportional Representation (PR) category, on Monday. Party's Central Working Committee endorsed the names prepared and recommended by the party parliamentary board.

With the Election Commission's deadline for PR list submission expiring today, NC finally managed to finalise the list of PR lawmakers hours before the deadline expiry.

Four NC central members have missed out on the final list. Leaders Surendra Pandey, Baburam Rana, Mina Subba and Rajan Kumar Pant have no been included in the 91-member PR list.

General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula read out the names of the PR lawmakers at the CWC meeting today. Sources said that 15 central members expressed their reservations on the final PR list.

Amongst the 91 PR lawmakers , 55 are from the establishment faction while 36 are from senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba's bloc.

UCPN (Maoist) and other fringe parties are yet to submit their respective list of PR lawmakers while CPN-UML has already submitted the list.
