BBC NEWS,
A man who was fatally stabbed while having a cigarette outside a hostel in central London was mistaken for someone else by his killers, police believe.
Christopher Foster, 34, from Walworth, south-east London, had a four-year-old daughter and worked at a law firm.
He was stabbed shortly before midnight on Friday in Borough High Street, Southwark, and died later in hospital.
A 32-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and is in custody, said police.
Det Chief Insp John Sandlin of the Metropolitan Police said: "At this stage of our investigation, this appears to be a case of mistaken identity."
Witnesses said they saw seven suspects wearing hooded clothing and carrying baseball bats and at least one knife.
They ran from St Christopher's Inn towards Elephant and Castle.
A post-mortem examination was due to be held at Greenwich Public Mortuary.
