Star Wars films offer online auditions
Hundred of people queued for a second day of auditions in Bristol on Sunday
Hundreds of hopefuls who missed out on auditioning for the latest Star Wars film will be allowed to submit an application online.
Open auditions began in Bristol on Saturday, however the queue was closed before the session officially opened after too many people turned up.
Now, producer Lucasfilm has said prospective cast members can send in a video application.
Hopefuls must submit their audition through Cast It Talent's website.
Producers are looking to cast two lead roles for Star Wards: Episode VII - a "street smart" girl in her late teens and a "smart, capable" man in his early 20s.
Other open auditions are still to be held in Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin and London in the coming weeks.
Lucasfilm said casting directors saw some 2,500 people in Bristol over the weekend. Many who missed out on Saturday's session camped overnight at the city's Arnolfini Arts Centre to be seen on Sunday.
Security at the auditions told the Bristol Post about the same number of people were turned away without being seen because of the pressure of numbers.
"The whole process was a complete and utter mess," said Josh McGrillen from Ross-on-Wye. "They had no infrastructure to handle the hundreds of people who turned up.
"Many like me were turned away just because we weren't queuing obscenely early in the morning.
"Some sort of pre-application process should've been used because some people travelled from afar and forked out just to get to Bristol."
Hayley Mogridge told the BBC her son had arrived for the auditions at 10:45am, and was turned away after waiting "two hours in the rain".
He then spent "his student loan on a cheap hotel" in the hopes of making the Sunday session.
Barbara Gamlen, a publicist for Lucasfilm, said 75 of those who auditioned on Saturday were called back to read a generic script in front of the Star Wars team.
She added she expected a similar number to be called back from Sunday's crop of hopefuls.
Auditions also began in the US, with around 1,000 people seen in St Louis, Missouri, on Sunday.
