Govt serious on economic issues: Minister Koirala

KATHMANDU, NOV 30 - Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala has said that the government was serious about the economic and commercial issues raised by the media.

Addressing a programme organised on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of Society of Economic Journalists Nepal (SEJON), Minister Koirala said that the government was making efforts to make the economy more dynamic, adding that the economic index at present were positive. 

According to him, the government has managed the budget for the election in the local bodies.

On the occasion, he honoured journalists Shiva Satyal, Lokmani Rai and Kamal Parajuli with SEJON Journalism Award.

Similarly, Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr. Yuvraj Khatiwada said a credible economic news report helps direct nation's economy to a right track.

Former chairmen of the SEJON were also felicitated during the programme. A souvenir Arthaniti (economic policy) published by the SEJON was also released on the occasion.
