12-point deal determines political course: MK Nepa

PARSA, NOV 30 -

CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said national politics will take its course on the basis of the 12-point agreement—signed among the parties in New Delhi before the Maoists’ joining the peace process—and the cooperation among “democratic” forces.
At a news conference in Parsa district on Friday, Nepal said democratic practice will be upheld and no party will be denied from joining it. “That the people gave the highest number of votes to Nepali Congress and the UML does not mean that other parties will be ignored,” Nepal said.
The former prime minister tried to console UCPN (Maoist) and other Madhes-based parties telling them to accept the rise and ebb of politics. He also called on the winning parties and candidates to maintain humility and reach out to the people to hear out their grievances.
Nepal also dismissed rumours that he had remarked about reviving the 1990 constitution and claimed that the past is not going to repeat. He said the UML was against federalism based on ethnicity and single identity.
