KATHMANDU: Chief of the Army Staff General Gaurav Shumsher Rana is embarking on a week-long official visit to China on Friday.
The Nepal Army said on Thursday that the army chief is leading a five-member delegation.
General Rana was invited by the Chief of General Staff of China’s People’s Liberation Army, General Fang Fenghui.
General Rana will return to Kathmandu on July 28.

According to itineraries, the army boss is scheduled to meet high army officials including Deputy Chairman of Central Military Commission Air Chief Marshal Xu Qiliang, Chief of the General Staff of PLA, General Fang Fenghui, Shaanxi Military Region, Nanjing Military Region.
He is also scheduled to visit the first hospital affiliated to fourth military medical university, command and Staff College, Nanjing army Command College and Yunnan military region during his visit to northern neighbour.
China is due to provide two mobile hospitals for the Nepali Army (NA), the statement reads.
