BANKE, JUN 05 - Raped and impregnanted by her father, a 13-year-old girl from Bardiya was admitted to the Bheri Zonal Hospital in Nepalgunj on Tuesday.
The young girl, who is in 17 week of pregnancy, was brought to the hospital in a frail condition for abortion . Doctors have said the girl was too weak to undergo immediate abortion . They have suggested keeping her at the hospital for a couple of days until her health has imporved.
Meanwhile, police have arrested the girl's father and preparing to file a case against him.
The victim has told police in her statement that she father had repeatedly rape d and beaten her under the influence of alcohol while her mother was away. The girl, her father and mother lived in a squatter's settlement in Padanaha in Bardiya.
The incident became known one week ago when the girl was visiting her maternal uncle.
